NewsUnitree piloting Baltic car auctions with Danish Autocom
Unitree Group has entered into an agreement with Danish owned Autocom A/S which manages one of the largest European car auction systems Autorola (www.autorola.com). The companies have agreed to enter into a business co-operation in remarketing of used vehicles present in the three Baltic States and sold in the EEC market via Autocom’s online auction system. The testing period will last until mid 2010.
Autocom A/S was founded in 1996 by the brothers Peter and Martin Groeftehauge and their father, former car dealer Niels Groeftehauge. In 2001 the company started online car auctions in Denmark and following its success it initiated a European expansion in 2003. The company now have more than 200 employees and host on-line car auctions in 17 countries: Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Australia and Ireland. More subsidiaries both in and outside Europe are on their way. The number of cars registered for auctions is esxpected to rise by 50 percent this year. The number of registred car dealers are 63,000.
